Standing in for the billed Chase Martin, of The Funny Magic Show, is Frisco Fred, a veteran comedian-clown who specializes in juggling, illusions, tricks, and making audiences laugh. I had the pleasure of seeing Frisco Fred’s act on Thursday and was absolutely tickled with joy, amusement, and amazement.
Frisco Fred is seriously hilarious with his quips, self-deprecating humor, and audience-aware jokes. Yes, if we groan at a joke he rolls with it and turns into it into a worthwhile chuckle. His tricks and illusions are excellent, in that they are often impressive while the supplemental material serves to put you on the edge of your seat with intrigue as you try to figure out if it’s a legit illusion or another “gotcha” act where the comedy serves the magic.
The final show can be caught at Veni Vidi Vici’s on Saturday, 3/12 at 2pm, where it’s been stated that it will be a more family-friendly set of jokes and tricks. Go catch the hilarity and the magic!
